The Social Challenge
Amid the Universal health coverage scheme, access to quality health care remains the big challenge for people living in a remote area in Thailand. The situation in Umphang, Tak province, is even worse due to large number of stateless population at the border between Thailand and Myanmar.
The Solution
Mr. Dinhin Rakpong-Asoke and his friends initiated the art exhibition and charity auction “Glory to the Great Chakri Dynasty” to fund-raise for health programs by Umphang hospital that reach out to those who do not have access to healthcare generally provided in clinic or hospital. Two of the programs funded by this charity auction are
- Cataract surgery at Umphang hospital
- Training for midwife in Umphang district
The Givers
- Mr. Dinhin Rakpong-Asoke, Mr. Yuttakit Prasomphol, Mr. Montri Senee, Mr. Nopporn Torburin, and a group of Art4Worth students donated paintings for charity auction.
- 333 Gallery supported venue for exhibition and auction.
- Buddharaksa Foundation provided financial support for exhibition and auction.
The Outcomes
554,831 Baht raised by the auction was donated to Umphang hospital.
